Ebook About
**Same story...updated cover!**Alabama didn’t have a good start to life. Emotionally and physically abused by her mama, Alabama spent her high school years in foster care. People let her down, time after time, and she’d learned to rely on only herself. Christopher “Abe” Powers earned his nickname because he tolerated nothing less than absolute honesty from the people around him. Finding the bar scene stale and having watched his friend and teammate, Wolf, find the woman of his dreams, Abe was determined to find someone to share his life with too. Alabama and Abe had no idea their paths would cross and their prayers would be answered, but like most things in life, nothing is ever as easy as it seems at first. Two words would change both their lives and they’d have to fight hard for their happy ever after. **Protecting Alabama is a stand-alone love story. It’s Book 2 in the SEAL of Protection Series.**

Book Protecting Alabama (SEAL of Protection Book 2) Review :

This book was just okay. Nothing great here, but not the worst book I've ever read. I haven't read many books by this author, but so far I haven't been overly impressed. I got several of her books on the cheap one day, so I've got quite a few already loaded on my Kindle.Christopher, our big, bad hero. Hmm. Yeah, he did absolutely nothing to save or protect Alabama, so problem number one. He seemed like a great guy at first, and then when trouble struck (in the form of his vindictive ex), he bailed on Alabama faster than a sinking ship. He didn't even wait for the poor girl to explain what had happened. He just ASSUMED that she was guilty of the crime she was (falsely) being accused of. Ack. It's extremely difficult to come back from that kind of faux pas. When you factor in the resulting ordeal that Alabama was forced to contend with (being broke, briefly imprisoned, and homeless), it just makes everything so much worse.I felt so bad for Alabama. She was really a sweet girl who had an unfortunate childhood (i.e., a raging bitch of a mother) and no known father. She didn't trust people easily, but Christopher got her to trust him, only so he could grind her heart into the dirt at the first sign of trouble. Gee, what a guy. While the author did devote a decent amount of time to him groveling and suffering as he tried to win back her trust, I didn't think it went quite far enough. What a prick. While I tried to like Christopher, and did initially, that completely flew out the window after the way he treated her at the police station. There was just no recovering from that, in my opinion. Jeez. I don't know how any relationship could realistically recover from that. So, overall, this was a disappointing story. I don't know why this author seems to want to pair SEALs with the most unfortunate women God could possibly create, but that seems to have been her goal with this series (for whatever reason). While I appreciate her not making the female leads some kind of Barbie/model clones, she could have at least made them "normal" women with some type of viable career and some semblance of self-esteem. So far, the books I've read about the SEALs have featured women with little to no self-esteem and some serious physical/psychological deficiencies. I just think she went overboard with trying to make the women seem "average" or at least something that you wouldn't typically expect SEALs to be attracted to.This book was just okay. I was able to read the whole thing, but I can't say I was overly pleased with the story. I was very disappointed, overall, with the behavior of Christopher (the H). He really needed to have his ass kicked after the way he treated Alabama at the police station. From my perspective, that was a deal breaker, and he didn't do anything through the rest of the story to make up for that. Disappointing, overall.
I read Protecting Caroline which I loved and this one was almost as good. Alabama has gone through such a tragic childhood that she because very introverted and afraid to talk so people thought she was weird. Alabama meets Hunter and his girlfriend and helps them escape a fire. Abe and Alabama fall in love and she tells him her tragic childhood and how she never wants to hear "Shut UP" because her mother would yell at her if she talked and beat her with a frying pan. Well Abe's exgirlfriend sets her up to look like she robbed the realty company she worked for and gets arrested. She calls Abe and when he comes in he tells her to shut up and doesn't believe her and leaves her in jail for 3 days. She finally gets bonded and ends up living in homeless shelters because she doesn't have an apartment or money. Abe trys to find her and realizes that he was wrong and his ex girlfriend set her up and has his seal team look for her. She finally forgives him for treating her like crap and live happily ever after. I don't know about you but it would be hard to forgive someone who treated you that way.
